I recieved a call the other night – an invitation to speak at Gr. 8 night at my old high school. Gr. 8 night is where Gr 8′ers and their parents tour the high school and learn more about Christian education and what the school has to offer. So, I’m doing a 5-10 minute speech on extra-curricular activities at the school since I was probably one of the most involved students (I was in band, choir, yearbook, Newspaper editor, Student Council President, Service Club, Theatre, Praise Team, Computer Club – pretty much everything there was except sports). I actually did a speech at Gr.8 night when I was in Gr. 12 and still have the speech – it’s not that great so I have to write another one. I’m pretty excited thought cause I’ll get to see all my teachers who I haven’t seen recently.

That sounds like a wonderful opportunity heidi. I had no idea you were involved in so many activities. Good luck and im sure youll do a wonderful job.
Neat opportunity, Heidi! I’d love to see your speech at some point. Kids at that age are so impressionable, and you are probably a sort of hero to them. It must be different……looking back now at your age, to all the things you were involved in. I’m curious as to what you conclude now, as an adult looking back….which of those activities had the most impact on your life? How involved would you advise kids nowdays to be? What guidelines might you suggest, as to what activities kids should choose to get involved in? Maybe I should just read your speech sometime
